Creativity, the secret ingredient

Web development is intensely creative. Yes, Intensely. I came to this realization when I was faced with a blank compiler and no idea what to design beyond a basic <html>tag. Then it dawned on me, to create is to code. I mean think about it, you have the potential to build a working interface that can potentially reach millions. Common sense, I know, but my training in marketing and branding doesn't allow me to think in any other way besides metrics, numbers, and impressions. My web development journey has really shown me how important right brain activity actually is.

In an attempt to put HTML, CSS, and creativity to the test before moving onto Javascript. I created this very humble-looking landing page with a simple serif font and navigation bar. It’s not the trendiest, or stylish or aesthetically modern, but it’s mine. It’s raw, it’s honest, it took discipline and time. This blog was born out of the need to document my process, even the unsophisticated needs to be published. I’m starting to really fully embrace the sense of naivety that follows when you embark on a new journey and switch professionally into a sector that always intrigued you but thought you could never actually take on. This is living proof, that anyone can do anything. Magic is real. In other news, I haven't decided on a boot camp and am still fervently searching for the right one.
